Infinity: Where the Hummingbird Draws the Symbol of Endless Flow

Class Description: Meet Infinity — a bead embroidery journey inspired by a remarkable natural phenomenon.

When a hummingbird hovers in the air, its wings move in a figure-eight pattern. This motion allows it to float effortlessly in place, suspended between stillness and movement. That figure eight is also the symbol of infinity — a sign of continuity, balance, and endless flow. This project captures that same feeling in beadwork form.

At the heart of Infinity is the hummingbird centerpiece, framed and elevated through layered bead embroidery, crystal setting, sculptural borders, floral accents, and flowing fringe. Every element is designed to echo motion, rhythm, and harmony — as if the piece itself is gently hovering.

In this course, you’ll learn how to build a richly detailed composition around a focal image, create depth through precise bead layering, integrate crystals and textures for visual movement, and finish with elegant fringe and a statement drop that brings life and fluidity to the design. You’ll also explore how color choices transform the mood of the same structure, as Infinity is presented in multiple colorways.

Beyond techniques, this project teaches design flow — how to connect elements so the eye travels naturally across the piece, just like the continuous path of the hummingbird’s wings.

Ideal for intermediate to advanced beaders, Infinity offers not only a stunning wearable artwork, but also lasting design principles you can carry into your own creations.

Kit contains foundation and fine genuine metallic lambskin leather as backing. Thread, needles are included.
