This bonus class is offered to make available a slightly more complex Shrinket construction that won’t fit into the primary class’s time frame but can be added to your class project with Gail.
These components that fold a Shrinket around a felt ball offer an opportunity to include another way to embellish our components and create a beautiful format for ‘fruit forming’.
Julie is an artist, the founder of Shrinkets shrink plastic bead making molds , an illustrator and teacher.
Creating to her is a burning passion and the students she teaches keeps that fire burning.
Julie attended Kendal School of Design and graduated with a degree in Illustration.
Julie Attended California College of the Arts and studied Fine Metal Smithing and Ceramics .
Julie brings a life time of artistic skills to the work she creates today. Art is what centers me. My burning passion is making, creating, sharing. A lifetime background of artistic skills illustration, ceramics woodworking , fine metalsmithing prepped me for the rewards of teaching. Class Cost: Free for our attendees
Kit: $30 - Gail will have tons of options for you to choose from including felted balls, ribbons, sequins, pearls, rings, etc...as well as the Shrinket Material and use of all of her coloring tools and sharable heatguns.
Duration: Noon-4pm PST
We'll have plenty of fun supplies on hand for you to create your own Shrinket Bauble - but if you'd like to bring any of your own inks or pencils please feel free to do so. Just make sure you have them marked clearly as yours!
We'll also have heatguns available for you to use - and then offered at a discount for purchase once the class has ended.
Our Friday and Saturday evening classes for this event will be taught by Julie Haymaker - the inventor and designer of the fun Shrinkets!
In this class, you will learn how to hand form
components using shrink plastic which also
includes creating a unique bail .
You will also use the Shrinkets Bezel Mold to
create a focal flower which will be designed
and colored using colored pencils adding patterns
with shading and contour line techniques .
The pendant will be assembled using cold
Class kit fee $40 - Includes all the materials
to make this project plus the use
of the teacher tools.
Please feel free to bring your own tools or colored
pencils to use - just be sure to label them so they
don't get mixed up with the teachers tools!
